A Length Apart: Rimmel London LYCRA® LASH EXTENDER MASCARA in Black

I share with you what my eye lashes went through this winter.

Mascaras were not a must have  for me since a year or two ago. But back then nothing was except Kohl, blusher and lipstick/gloss.

Know Them!!

As far as I have researched about mascaras, they can have more cons than pros. I initially kept using and admiring some mascaras without ever realizing if they were the good ones. Mascara should be anything but clumpy, flaking, and sticky. My experience is that those which don’t have these few qualities can be good mascaras.

Then there are also kinds of effects which mascaras are supposed to give; Lengthening, Volumizing, Curling, and Defining. There might be more but these are the basic ones. There are brush and wand variations that make a difference.

Then, there are Shades from a Classic and Blackest Blacks to Funky ones. I personally have always been found of a Brown Black shade that is not that overpowering.

Now let’s get back to Rimmel London Lycra Lash Extender Mascara in Black.

Know it!!

This one comes in a large container, with a lengthy wand and a brush which is an amalgam of lengthening and curling brush and promises to do so too.

Use it!!

As told before I never knew what goodness can mascaras do for a long time. The ones which I already was using, gave me great curl and volume but I would always wonder where does the black powder on my under eye area come from.

Rimmel Lycra Lash extender has a quite balanced texture. It is not thick, heavy or drying at all.

It very gently spreads over the lashes and does not try to clog them rather I have felt that it separates the lashes by coating very fine film over them.  Though it does not offer a great volumizing effect but it does define, lengthen and curls lashes to a good extent. I did not experience a dramatic look but there certainly was a grave change between with and without eyes.

I also have found that with two coats it can definitely give a volume as well. The point is to let a coat dry and then apply another.

I also did a look HERE with this mascara.

On another note the long wand makes it easier to apply without bringing hand too close to face. The brush bristles are not very close that give an excellent even coating. There is a tip to the outer side brush which helps defining corner lash hair well.

It claims to have lycra: a flexible and elastic fiber that helps maintain stretch and curl. I somewhat agree to that as it is quite long lasting and keeps intact for a good lot of time

 As it dries quickly there is no chance for sticky eyes.  There was no flakiness even after a long time. Each eye lash hair was separate and there were no clumps at all which really made me very happy.

Though it is not water proof but I have also not observed any smudges or smears for a long time, which makes it perfect for a wet waterlines.

The shade is black which, quite a good one is.

Though it is not mascara which gives an ultimate eye lash look, but it is great for its purposes that are lengthening and curling. It goes very well with my everyday look without making me too pinned up. The long lasting and non-smudging abilities make it suitable for long wear.
