A Double Treat: NYC City Duet 2 in 1 Lip Color in The Waldorf Roses

NYC city duet 2 in 1 Lip color focuses on offering two lip colors in one product. One of the lip color is, Dark and Frosty, whereas the other one is a Lighter shade with Crème finish. The tube is pretty ordinary square-y kind.

One thing I didn't like about the packaging was that apparently you have to take off the whole wrapper which bears the shade name. I don't really like that so I just swept the knife blade across the wrapper seal, where the lid is connected with the bottom, and it broke the seal easily.

Moreover, as the bullet is sticking out of the twisting top, one has to be very careful while capping it. It can easily strike with edge and ruin the tip.

My lipstick was a little loose in the casing. Not only the tip had touched the cap but also the bullet itself was grazed at several points. What you see in Images is exactly how I got it. Thanks Heavens it was not damaged beyond use, otherwise I would have been pretty upset to lose such fab product.

The Waldorf Roses like other NYC city duet 2 in 1 lip colors also contains a darker frosty and a lighter crème color.

The darker shade is a Maroon-ish gooseberry like shade with a little frost to it.

 The second one is a peachy pink shade which is an absolutely amazing nude shade. Unlike the first shade this one has a crème finish and at some point goes a little matt-ish. It does remind me a little of e.l.f essential lipstick in Nostalgic but that one is a little too light and too crème.

Both of them have light and creamy texture and are  really really pigmented that actually impressed me. I was not really expecting them to give me such a great color pay off.
The quantity of the lip color is quite satisfactory and they do stay for good lot of time as well. There also is a flowery fragrant scent to it, which is not that bothersome but for those who do not like their product perfumed, they might not like it.

According to product description, We can also try mixing these two shades to come up with variations. and of course one can experiment with the color blocked lips trend easily as well. By applying darker color to top lip and lighter to bottom or darker on the outside edges ad lighter inside. I can just say, this is an interesting thought. On trying to blend them together, the shade that came up was also a beautiful color, but I do  think that would pushing them a little too far. I mean, For someone like me, I love the idea that all I  actually would be carrying one lipstick instead of many and I can easily switch from a nude to bright to glamorous look in secs. But that may kind of pollute the two shades; they can get messy and smeary in their areas. but if you are an experimenter, Go ahead and rock them.:)
Now, As much as these lippies are interesting and full of fun, the only draw back I felt was that while applying lip color to top lip, one has to be a little careful. As the colors join at the tip of the bullet, you may find intrusion of the other color while applying just one of them. This only is the trouble with top lip application and what I do is that instead of sweeping the very tip on lips, I make use of the bumpy part of the bullet.
Over all this lipstick amazes me each time I apply it. I love both shades sepcially the Lighter one. That is going to become one of my favorite nudes.
