Brighten and Camouflage: Benefit Erase Paste in Medium 02

Know it!!
Benefit Erase Paste in Medium 02
Benefit Erase Paste in Medium 02
Benefit erase paste comes in a round pot with screw top. The one I have was part of value set thats why it is a smaller size which is 0.11 oz instead of the full size 0.15. Since it is a kind a mini version product it didn't come with a spatula and a directions page that is normally promised along with the full sized one.

Use it!!
Benefit erase paste is one of those product I truly have a true love hate relationship. As much as I wanted to have a great concealer in my stash this one really made me squeal when I finally got my hands on it.

Benefit Erase Paste in Medium 02

The shade I have is Medium 02, and I seriously think if medium is that lightened how lighter would be the "Light". It is certainly not a prefect match for me. I would seriously have liked it if it had been a little beigish and a little more orangey. I think it would be a better match for some one who is below NC 30 and does not have very dark pigmentation to take care of.

Benefit Erase Paste in Medium 02
Swatch
Erase paste is basically a concealer cum highlighter product. That really sums it up to most of the extent. The highlighting part does not at all mean that it has some shiny specks or glittery particles. The product itself is salmon colored that tends to go little lighter when blended in skin, this is what ends up making the skin go brighter and illuminated. The only problem is that we do not actually need to highlight every area that needs concealing. Eyes: All right but anywhere on face where a blemish or pigmentation is. So what I normally do that I add up a bit of orange corrector to it. Orange corrector makes the skin go darker hence highlighting is eliminated
Now, The concealer itself is very pigmented . That really means that it can go a long way since a little product is used. But I am not really happy with the texture. I mean, it does blend in to skin very well but that it still is un-settling. I really have found it caking up: be it under the eye or around the mouth. These are the only parts of  my face where I need concealing and it does try to clog up in there which really ends up looking different from the face's skin tone.
Before: Only foundation applied

After Benefit Erase Paste in Medium 02 Applied and Powdered

I do not really understand this product in the sense that it claims to be extremely focussed on highlighting the under eye area but at the same time is so go-ey to that it can only end up cakey under the eye and would end up highlighting the clumped concealer.
Apply it !!
I tried it in multiple ways. Dabbing it in or blending it or using it above or below foundation, without powder and with powder, and even just with primer and nothing else.  I found it is totally useless if it is blended in on bare skin. It would disappear in skin and right after you powder, it is gonna show up without even solving the problem . If I try the dab it below eye area, it takes ages to build up enough to camouflage the darkness and then my eye really ached for like an hour after I had worked on them. Result it kinda made my eyes look like an island with white sanded beach, showing up that some "unsuccessful"work has really been done there.
Benefit Erase Paste in Medium 02
I seriously did not want to get disappointed in this product so I made it useful somehow. As far as cakey nature is concerned the blending would certainly help. For under the eye area first I apply the foundation after primer  and blend it really good. After wards I use the erase paste and again blend it with fingers to most of the extent.More blending will mean less concealing of the dark circles near the tear duct. Finally to correct the tone I take a bit of foundation again and dab it a little in the inner corner blending it towards outside. Using the pressed powder minimally afterwards some how makes it  last long and does not let it cake.
For around the mouth I applied the primer and foundation and then added a small amount of orange color correcter. Then dabbed in the concealer until it was blended thoroughly. Next I take a little bit of foundation and apply a layer over to co- ordinated the tone with rest of the face. I press powder lightly after wards to keep it in shape.
I normally prefer dabbing with other concealers, but I cannot seriously afford the dabbing on dark circles because cakey under eye looks so horrible.
The blending thing has kinda made it a go-to product. Dabbing usually takes more time than just sweeping motion. Moreover I do not really want to have a heavy coverage all the time so this one is quite handy for a natural look.
I wont call it very long lasting but it can keep up to 4-5 hours maximum.
I really really wish it had the darker shade so I could  try that one to see if that had suited me well.

Like it!!
Cuz
Is good for highlighting under eye.
Gives good coverage.
Is very creamy
Is very pigmented.
Blends well.

Leave it!!
Cuz
Really needs a primer.
Can cake up easily
Has limited shade selection.
May need different techniques for different face areas.
Is not very good for extreme pigmentation.
Does not stay for very long.

SCALING & RATING:
Quality:*** (Leading brand, good pigmentation, Highlights well, Difficult application)
Price: **1/2 ($ 26 for full size, Little overrated)
Product Claims:***1/2( Brightening, Creamy, Concentrated but not extremely good camouflaging)
Availability: ***1/2( @ Sephora, Amazon, and benefit Webstore)
Durability Through Time: **1/2( stays for up to 4-5 hours)
Shades: ** ( Only Three)
Recommendations: Perfect for those who prefer highlighting concealer, are with less wrinkled skin, and medium coverage needs.

So that was all from me.
Hope you all liked it.
See ya soon again
Cheers
Cheeky Chic.

  4. I have been tempted to try erase paste for a while since I get circles under my eyes easily, but since hearing it cakes up easily I might just stick with my current concealer! Thankyou for commenting and following :) xox

  5. Oooh this is my absolute favorite concealer for under eyes. I use macs studio fix concealer for the face and just a dab of erase paste with the Eco tools contouring brush under eyes. Works like a charm. I'm sorry it didn't behave too well for u :)

    1. That sounds like a great idea. But that would only serve as a highlighter not a "concealer".

  8. I have this concealer too and also in medium! But it´s too dark for me, so I´m not using it anymore! I can suggest you the corrector and concealer kit from bobby brown! :)
