NYX Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie: A Review

Hello Ladies
Today I am sharing with you one of the nude shades from NYX round lipstick I recently came across.

Know it!!
NYX Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie
Packaging
Nyx round lipstick or as mentioned on the lid "Lip smacking fun colors" is a black lid lipstick. The packaging is okay, nothing too fancy. There also is a round transparent part at the bottom that reveals the shade within. It actually can be taken off and the rubbery stuff inside is the best interpretation of the shade if you dont get to swatch it before buying.

As you do not have the shade name printed anywhere but the lid top. If you have more than one nyx round lippies you can forget which shade is which.

 Use it!!
Pumpkin pie is a nude shade to its core.As the name suggests, it is a peach shade with slightly brown undertones.

Shade

As this was my first nyx round lipstick, I had heard everyone rave about them since ages. "How pigmented they are" is the top listed compliment I have came across. Pumpkin Pie was nowhere remotely near to those pre occupation I had about round lipsticks. I was about to get disappoint in the NYX lipsticks when I came to know that there actually different texture to each of these lipsticks. Some of them are Opaque, while others are sheer. Some can be creme and others can be frosty. So the one I have, falls in to the category of sheer lipsticks but thankfully not frosty. Sheer and frosty would have been a total buzz killer.

So Pumpkin Pie is indeed a sheer shade with lots of glossy shine to it and it is creme. Since my lips are pigmented, there is a lot bit of problem each time I try to put some color on. The good thing is that it is smoothly applied and being sheer makes it light enough to put multiple coats on.
Now, as you must have seen in the images the lipstick bullet is not of an impressive size. if I go on putting multiple layers on my lips to bring on color(In my case even 4 layers) it will be finished in some weeks. so I decided to use the shade as a top color to my lip pencils. In other words you can say that I do not use this lipstick n bare lips I alwyas have to apply a pencil beneath. That works wonderful. Not only does it save up my lipstick, it also becomes long lasting. Moreover my I can actually experiment with shades and bring up more than, combination with different lip pencils. Sometimes when I am ta enough for this shade to wash me out, I can actually make it a little darker to suit me well.My top preferences are Avon Color trend Lip liner Pencil in Natural which is a nudish brown and Etude Skinfit Long Lasting Lipstick Pencil in an orangish shade

Another thing which was a lot disturbing, is that it strangely smells like a detergent, even tastes like one. No sooner I am done applying it, I run to apply some lipgloss over, that can subdue that flavor and smell. That is very awkward for a lipstick to have such an odd smell. I seriously cannot smack my lips contrary to what title suggests.
Like it!!
cuz
It is a beautiful shade.
It is sheer enough to be not sticky.
The application is very smooth.
It is not that expensive.
It is creamy.
It is very glossy
Leave it!!
Cuz
It is not much pigmented.
It does not stay very long
It has an strange smell to it.
The quantity is not satisfactory.

SCALING & RATING:
Quality: ***1/2(Not much pigmented. Not sticky. applied easily)
Price:****($3-4.50 normally.Reasonable for the quantity offered.)
Product Claims:**1/2( "velvet texture""Jaw dropping no. of shades". not much 'Saturated color" or" wear resisting")
Durability through time:***( can go better with pencil)
Availability: ****(at many places.Cherry culture, pork daisy and even with me)
Shades:****(126 shades)
Recommendations: Get pumpkin pie if you have less pigmented lips or if you can rock a beautiful yet sheer color)
So that was all from me.
Hope you liked it.
Will see ya all soon.
Cheers

    1. Thanks a bundle for liking it. Yup! it is a little overrated "shade". Some lipsticks from NYX that are more opaque are really good enough, so one doesn't worry about quantity. This is original Size of the bullet I have picturized. Yeah. I live in Islamabad-Pk,and sometimes in Toronto, Canada.

  5. I completely agree about the odd detergent smell/flavor! Hate it! but the color and formula are lovely and it's a dupe of MAC Shy Girl :)
